Dear friends and family,
I want to share a short update with you on how my preparations are going. First, I have a departure date! I’m planning on leaving for Honduras on Saturday, October 22. This is only two weeks away! I’m starting to feel nervous but also quite excited. This past Sunday, my family and friends from Voyage Church gathered around me to pray over my trip, as seen in the picture. I’m so glad that I have their support and prayers with me as I go. There are still a few loose ends, like getting my residency in order, but it is normal for that to take some time and I can still enter the country while that is in the process.
At the moment I have enough money raised to start my time in Honduras, but I need to continue fundraising for the remainder of my time there. I encourage you to donate or to keep donating. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to step into and be part of the work God is doing in the communities of southern Honduras. Your donations are a significant part of what allows missions like these to carry out their work well. If you would like to donate, you can do so through this link: Support a Volunteer. Choose my name from the drop-down list on the webpage, or you can make out a check to World Renew with my fund code (503355) in the memo line.
As my departure date draws closer, I ask that you continue to pray for me. I am so eager to learn and to act, but I know that I have my shortcomings as well. Please join me in praying that God would enter into those imperfect areas and use my work and my interactions, even when flawed, to glorify Him.
I’m continually grateful for all your support, advice, and friendship. May God continue to bless us as we embark on this journey.
