My name is Emma and I'm from Kalamazoo, Michigan. I will be serving in Honduras, Central America, for about two years. As a child I lived there for four years and was able to return for a semester through Calvin College, where I earned my degree in International Development Studies and a minor in Spanish. During this semester we learned about issues of corruption in the Honduran government and the leaders that so often take advantage of the economically poor Hondurans who live there. Through these experiences I have come to care deeply about the situation of poverty that Honduran individuals and communities live in every day. I am excited to go back and continue learning about Honduras and especially to be a part of the work God is doing there through World Renew. I will be working with one of World Renew's partner organizations located in southern Honduras. I will be an assistant to their children's nutrition program as well as to their sustainable agriculture program.
Please feel free to follow my blog and join me on this journey!
